FIELD: mechanical engineering; exhaust systems of internal combustion engine. SUBSTANCE: catalyst converter has housing with inlet and outlet branch pipes. Housing accommodates cylindrical reactor with at least three sections. Each section is provided with concentrically installed outlet and inner grids made in form of cylindrical spiral. Longitudinal spacer plates with holes for mounting wire grids are installed between grids. Space between grids is filled in with granulated catalyst. Plug and partition with holes to provide passage of gases through outer and inner grids, and catalyst are installed from side inlet branch pipe. After cleaning, gases get into channel and further into outlet branch pipe. EFFECT: facilitated process of manufacture, reduced wear of catalyst granules under real operating conditions. 3 dwg
