FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines; cleaning of exhaust gases from harmful components and soot. SUBSTANCE: catalytic converter has housing with double walls and heat insulation between walls. Housing accommodates reactor with reaction chambers and inner partitions made in form of porous ceramic plates with central holes. Ports are made in reactor walls between, minimum, two reaction chambers. Converter has cyclone with guides, inlet and outlet branch pipes, device to change direction of gas flow, upper cover with plug, lower cover with thermal insulation, heater with heat exchanger, seat with valve and outlet pipe made movable in longitudinal direction relative to reactor. Outlet pipe is brought into reactor space in catalyst boiling layer through holes of cross partitions. Upper portion of movable pipe is closed by porous ceramic filter. Movable pipe has seat for valve in its upper portion. Valve is rigidly secured on rod connected to upper cover in its central part relative to pipe and seat in cover. Plate valve to overlap inlet holes is rigidly mounted on rod connected with drive and pipe in its lower portion. Spool in form of cylinder is secured on movable outlet pipe.
