FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves studying infrared spectrum of saliva. Mixed saliva sample is placed into infrared analyzer cell immediately after filtering it from mechanical admixtures. The analyzer is 9-channeled spectrophotometer operating in the wavelength bandwidth from 2 to 12 mcm (3500-963 cm-1). Multiple determination of infrared radiation transmission factor is carried out every second during 30 s. Total dispersion is calculated on the basis of the data obtained. The value is equal to 117 ± 10, active caries development is predicted. EFFECT: enhanced accuracy in determining high risk groups.
