METHOD AND DEVICE FOR CAVITATION OF LIQUID FLOW Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

Abstract RU 2164629 C1

FIELD: applicable for action on oil pools with the aim of increasing the inflows or injectivity of producing objects in the oil hole for action on the hole bottom at drilling with the aim of intensification of the process of destruction of rocks; for extermination of microbiological objects, for cleaning of surfaces from stratifications, for erosive destruction of metals, for acceleration of chemical reactions, for dispersing of solid particles in liquid and high-molecular compounds, for emulsification of insoluble agents and in other processes for effective internal mass transfer. SUBSTANCE: the cavitation method is a hydrodynamic one. The flow in the given duct section of the pressure pipe-line is brought up to a speed at which Re>Recr, where Re - Reynolds number, Recr - critical Reynolds number, and then the flow is interrupted with a period of less than a half-phase of the water hammer. Due to it flow ruptures are obtained. The device for cavitation of liquid flow in the duct of the pressure pipe-line has a cavitator that is made in the form of a working medium. The working medium is positioned in the body for its movement in the radial direction of the pipe-line and restriction of movement in the axial direction of the pipe-line. The maximum cross-section area of the working medium in the plane perpendicular to the pipe-line axis exceeds 0.8 of the pipe-line flow area, but it is not equal to it. To facilitate interruption of flow at high hydrostatic pressures, seeds of cavitation in the form of bubbles of gas or dispersion of solid particles, or emulsion of insoluble liquid are introduced in the pumped liquid. EFFECT: cavitation at high hydrostatic pressures. 3 cl, 13 dwg
