FIELD: optical methods of nondestructive inspection of fabrics. SUBSTANCE: tested section of fabric is illuminated with beam of monochromatic light. Illumination is conducted at angle of incidence of light on fabric α > 0>0 in horizontal plane perpendicular to direction of tested filament in fabric. Value δ of bending is evaluated by value of angle ϕ and by value of angle α by formula , where To is period of arrangement of filaments in fabric twisted around by tested filament. Angle ϕ is measured between horizontal and central lines of additional maxima which appear in diffraction picture with α > 0 >0. EFFECT: reduced time for measurement of parameters of fabric, prevention of destruction of structure of fabric in process of analysis. 1 cl, 7 dwg, 1 tbl
