SUBSTANCE: described are new oxygen-removing compositions, more particularly composition comprising transition metal salt and compound having ethylene or polyethylene main chain in which said compound has side or end residues which contain carbon atom which forms resonantly balanced free radical under oxygen-removal conditions, side or end residues containing no benzyl radical. Also describes is film and products comprising said compositions. These special polymers are useful as packing films and as components for preparing oxygen- removing compositions.
