FIELD: light-sensitive materials. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to photoinitiators, methods for preparation and application thereof, oxygen-absorbing compositions, products manufactured therefrom, and oxygen-removing methods. Oxygen-absorbing composition contains oxygen-absorbing material, photoinitiator, and at least one catalyst. Photoinitiator contains at least one benzophenone derivative containing at least 2 benzophenone groups. Polyethylene film 0.00127 cm thick is exposed for 10 days at room temperature to oxygen-absorbing composition containing 1000 ppm of photoinitiator. 6.4516 sq.cm of thus obtained film having thickness 0.00254 cm is then exposed to simulated greasy food substance, which results in extraction of less than 0.5 ppm of photoinitiator. EFFECT: enabled effective removal of oxygen from packaging and prolonged shelf time of oxygen-sensitive foods. 62 cl, 3 dwg, 1 tbl, 3 ex
