FIELD: electrical engineering. SUBSTANCE: trenches, 140 to 300 mm wide and up to 3500 mm deep, are excavated in bottom of water reservoir at depth of up to 50, cables and polyethylene piping are placed on trench bottom, and trenches are filled up with water-seal packings; trenches are excavated, cables and polyethylene piping are laid in them,, and trench is filling up simultaneously. Device implementing proposed method has self-propelled underwater platform carrying active working element in the form of pulling chains with scrapers, fore and aft pump stations incorporating fore and aft electric motors and pumps, respectively, submersible motor-pump unit, cable line, and drum with cable and polyethylene piping. Aft pump station is connected through aft oil line to hydraulic cylinder hinged to active working element and also hinged to underwater self-propelled platform which is coupled with operator's console and with diesel-electric power plant mounted on floating pontoon. EFFECT: improved quality and environmental friendliness of cable and pipeline routing, reduced construction time. 3 cl, 3 dwg
