METHOD FOR TREATING ACROMIAL CLAVICLE END DISLOCATIONS Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

Abstract RU 2165242 C2

FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves setting and temporarily fixing the clavicle, positioning the arm on the injured side at 50-65 deg deflection, with 30-40 deg of deviation forwards and 10-15 deg of internal rotation. Coracoid process reference points are set with two wires brought through the soft tissues touching in this way the anterior clavicle edge and external and internal edges of the coracoid process in parallel to each other and in perpendicular to longitudinal axis of the clavicle. The like posterior clavicle edge reference point is also set by touching it in the coracoid process projection at the point equidistant from the above mentioned reference points. Soft tissue incision is carried out above the clavicle equidistant from its anterior and posterior edge which length is equal to the distance from the anterior to the posterior coracoid process edge with respect to the reference points. A canal is formed through the clavicle into the coracoid process from the point equidistant from all previously set reference points, its diameter in the clavicle being equal to screw rod diameter. The clavicle is attached to the acromial process with compression screw. Clavicle position X-ray control is carried out relative to the acromial process. Screw-mediated adjustment is carried out when needed to arrange the inferior clavicle edge below the inferior edge of the acromial process at one half of its height. The soft tissues are sutured. EFFECT: easy to set, high accuracy and fixation rigidity method; favorable conditions for claviculocoracoid ligament restoration.
