FIELD: magnetic separation of complex hard-to-concentrate ores and materials. SUBSTANCE: magnetic separator includes drum made from paramagnetic material revolving relative to housing and relative to magnetic system placed inside it; drum holds magnetic flux concentrators secured on its outer surface at spaced relation to each other; these concentrators are made in form of pointed members manufactured from ferromagnetic material; separator is provided with loading passage and passages for discharge of magnetic and non-magnetic fractions. Drum is provided with shell made from non- magnetic elastic material with through radial cylindrical seats; distances "a" and "c" between these seats are found from the following dependencies: "a"= 1.7b-2.2b over drum generatrix, mm and "c"=2.2b- 3.3b over drum perimeter, mm, where "b" is maximum size of lump, mm. Magnetic flux concentrators are made in form of tenons having head formed by intersection of cylindrical surfaces; one head is movably engaged with outer surface of drum and other head is engaged with inner surface of shell; axis of third head coincides with longitudinal axis of tenon received by seat of shell for limited motion over surface of drum within limits of elasticity of elastic material.
