FIELD: working of articles with complex relief of functional layer in number program control machine tools. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of moving tool to initial position; with use of optical system for indexing position detecting when tool apex achieves reference point l of machine tool reference system while displaying process of coinciding onto screen; then adapting coordinate system of machine tool by three coordinates X,Y,Z with its reference system and performing movement measuring from point l; using as optical system for indexing position two TV-microscopes connected with monitor of computer; orienting optical axes of TV-microscopes along axes X and Y of coordinate system of machine tool; forming reference system in the form of three-dimensional coordinate system X1,Y1,Z1 oriented similarly with coordinate system of machine tool; displaying coinciding process in the form of images of projections of reference system and tool apex on planes XY and YZ of coordinate system of machine tool. Processes of coinciding tool apex with point l and adaptation of coordinate system of machine tool are realized by two stages. At first stage tool apex is introduced in vision field of first TV -microscope. Image of projection of tool apex is coincided in plane XZ on monitor screen with projection of point l on plane XZ due to relative motion of tool along axes X,Z; the readings of coordinate system of machine tool by coordinates X and Z are registered. At second stage tool apex is introduced to vision field of second TV-microscope. On screen of monitor in plane YZ image of projection of tool apex is coincided with projection of point l on plane YZ due to relative motion of tool along axis Y; readings of coordinate system of machine tool are registered by coordinate Y. Visual registration of time moment of coinciding is detected by means of respective images on screen of monitor.
