FIELD: nonferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: method includes cooling of vapor-gas mixture, passing it through layer of solid reagent in the form of carbon-containing material (metallurgical or petroleum coke) with reduction of volatiles of higher oxides of rhenium and osmium into nonvolatile compounds and their simultaneous catching at temperature of 250-550 C, their subsequent transfer into solution and further separation of desired products from solution. EFFECT: higher degree of rhenium catching, ensured catching of osmium (degree of catching up to 85%), simplified technology of rhenium and osmium extraction, regeneration and multiple reuse of solid reagent (carbon-containing) material, improved ecology. 3 cl, 1 tbl, 1 ex
