FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: method includes heating, baking and calcination of the carbon containing charge in the movable flow. Charge in the movable flow is heated upon oxygen presence in the heating zone of the rotating tube-time furnace with temperature in range 200-500°C, and baking and calcination of the carbon containing charge are performed in the baking and calcinations zone of the rotating tube-type furnace with temperature in range 600-1500°C. The carbon containing charge containing 50-100 wt % of petroleum semi-coke with output of volatile substance from 14 to 25 wt % is used, it is produced by decelerated semicoking of heavy petroleum residues.

EFFECT: enhanced coke quality.
