FIELD: textile industry. SUBSTANCE: scutching machine section has beating planks fixed on shaft through cross-pieces, grids positioned on cross- pieces under beating planks, and fiber guiding shield. Width of shield adapted for guiding fibers to beating planks of adjacent drum increases in direction of advancement of material along drum. Shield is composed of set of auxiliary planks with wavy working edges. Auxiliary planks are positioned at different angles with respect to beater edge surface. Angle of inclination of tangent of wavy edge bending point with respect to line connecting slots of waves is at least: arctgf, where f is fiber and edge surface friction coefficient. Section of scutching machine may be used for scutching linen raw material to produce long fibers. EFFECT: reduced production of wastes in the process of scutching linen raw material and improved quality of long fibers. 5 dwg
