FIELD: gas, petroleum, chemical, power and coal branches of industry. SUBSTANCE: ball cock is designed to shut off working medium flows. According to the first version, cock has body with coaxial inlet and outlet branch pipes, seats with turning ball plug arranged between them, spindle coupled to ball plug, handle, and ball plug turning limiter in the form of two rests positioned within sector of 90 deg. Limiter of turning is provided with two auxiliary rests and with lock secured on handle for engagement with rests. Auxiliary rests are arranged symmetrically with two main rests along diameter. Provision is made for discrete fixing of ball plug every 90 deg within its full turn. According to the second version, ball cock has body with coaxial inlet and outlet branch pipes, seats with turning ball plug positioned between them, spindle coupled to ball plug, and drive of ball plug backward-rotary motion within sector of 90 deg made as rack and positioned on spindle of drive toothed wheel. Drive of ball plug backward-rotary motion is provided with idle gear. Drive gear is mounted for engagement with rack either directly or through idle gear. The invention makes it possible to increase number of ball cock tight shut-off cycles under conditions of wear caused by friction and abrasive erosion. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency. 2 cl, 2 dwg
