PROCESS OF ACTUALIZATION OF DIGITAL MAPS OF LOCALITY Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

FIELD: cartography. SUBSTANCE: process can be employed for production and actualization of digital maps of locality with use of topographic plotting boards, maps, photographic plans, space orthophotographs and other similar materials as starting material. Process includes formation of digital images of topographic material and space orthophotograph by scanning, identification of discrete, linear and area objects of locality in obtained raster copies, classification of objects of locality by elements with recording of semantic information on mentioned objects corresponding to them, making more accurate form and position of objects as result of joint processing of both images, updating of selected layers of basic digital map of locality. Novelty of process consists in joint processing of topographic and space images with their simultaneous display on screen of picture monitor, superimposition of thematic layers on them and simultaneous making them more accurate by both raster images. EFFECT: decreased labor input to actualization of digital map and enhanced efficiency of process. 1 dwg
