FIELD: cartography.
SUBSTANCE: method includes localization of obtained contours, obtaining depths and heights on a set of features of contour lines of analyzed maps of location, localization of centers of contour lines, converting linear objects into a vector representation, converting the formed set of vector representations of linear objects into a set of layers by HSI segmentation, selecting subsets corresponding to brown and blue from a set of color layers, searching for thickened contour lines in both formed subsets, recovering fractures of formed contour lines, executed separately for subsets of thickened and main lines, output of formed set of vector representations of contour lines.
EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of accuracy of automatic recognition of contour lines on initial topographic maps.
