FIELD: nuclear engineering. SUBSTANCE: method for producing nuclear fuel pellets from uranium oxides or from mixtures of uranium and plutonium oxides, and in particular from powder of reconditioned nuclear fuel involves milling of source nuclear fuel powders by means of milling bodies, their compression, and sintering. Source powdered nuclear fuel is milled at milling body acceleration of minimum 4.12 g, where g is gravitational acceleration. Compression is made at pressure of 0.52 to 2.35 t/sq. cm. Powder yield increases upon milling. Proposed process ensures isotropic structure of fissionable-material powder. EFFECT: enhanced mechanical strength of raw pellets. 5 cl, 1 tbl
