SUBSTANCE: tension box grooved pass includes lateral walls, bottom and joining members having radius determined by expression: r=(0.65 - 1.25)(вc.l.- вb), where r is radius of joining walls and bottom of grooved pass, mm; вc.l., вb is width values of grooved pass along connection line and bottom respectively, mm. Depth of grooved pass is determined by expression hg=(0,20-0,32)ho, where hg is depth of groove, mm; ho is height of rolled piece guided to grooved pass, mm. Outlet of grooved pass ϑ = вc.l.- вb/2hg = x 100%=(16 - 28)%. EFFECT: enhanced strength of grooved pass due to improved uniformness of its wear along perimeter, lowered metal consumption due to improved quality of billets. 1 tbl, 1 dwg
