FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method comprises multi-pass reduction of billets in rolls with gages. Higher efficiency of rolling results from that initial forming is performed in box-type gage asymmetric relative to vertical axis and recesses on one side of passes. Then canting for 90° and rolling in open trapezoidal gage symmetric about vertical axis are performed. Said gage is formed by passes of box-type gages of smaller and larger width. Then canting is made for 90° and rolling in two open flat-trapezoid-like split-edges gages that form profile lengthwise grooves. Lateral edges of the first split gage are made to radius with crest angle of 50-60° and crest height making 0.8 of finished profile groove height. Then canting for 90° and rolling in the second trapezoidal gage, a leader gage, symmetric about vertical axis are performed, while final forming of profile is performed in finishing open flat-trapezoid gage.
EFFECT: improved quality of finished products.
