FIELD: foundry, particularly, technology of manufacture of magnetic molds, mainly, for cylindrical castings with use of both permanent and lost patterns. SUBSTANCE: pole pieces are located at external surfaces of patterns and double-edged in cross-section insert from magnetized material is located between patterns at their internal surfaces. Insert is disposed so that its points face pattern internal surfaces with line connecting insert points located in plane of axis of patterns. Patterns, insert and pole pieces are surrounded with loose magnetized material which is compacted by action of magnetic field. After compaction, patterns are removed. EFFECT: higher productivity of manufacture of two-pole multiple magnetic molds for cylindrical castings, extended technological potentialities of claimed method, and reduced consumption of molding material per casting. 6 cl, 9 dwg, 2 ex
