MECHANIZED SHOP FOR MAKING OR REPAIRING RAILWAY ROAD WHEEL PAIRS Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

FIELD: manufacture or repairing of wheel pairs of transport vehicles moving along rails such as railway road cars, underground wagons or trams. SUBSTANCE: shop includes next main sections: main line, by-pass line, additional line, station for turning circle of rolling. In main and additional lines there are apparatuses for measuring geometry parameters and for magnetic and ultrasonic flaw detection of wheel pairs. There is mechanism providing transportation of wheel pairs with defective wheels from main line to by-pass line and from additional line to main line in mutually opposite directions for one operational cycle. By-pass line includes conveyer for transferring wheel pairs to station for turning rolling circle. In main line are arranged: press for demounting defective wheels from axle of wheel pair; apparatus for removing defective wheels out of shop; apparatus for receiving demounted axles; conveyer for supplying new axles to shop; station for cleaning and washing axles; axle accumulator; machine tool for turning and knurling underboss portions of axles; conveyer for removing defective axles after turning; set of two devices for lubricating underboss portions of axles; apparatus for automatic batch feeding of wheels to shop; wheel accumulator; two machine tools for boring holes in bosses of wheels; two apparatuses for lubricating surfaces of holes of wheel bosses; installation for preliminarily pressing wheels onto axle, press for forming wheel pair and set of two accumulators for accumulating formed wheel pairs arranged in main and by-pass line.
