FIELD: medical engineering. SUBSTANCE: device has artificial foot, ankle, crus, single-axis knee unit produced without deviating the axis backward, femur, receiving unit with leather acetabulum with belt as well as shoulder girdle joined to the knee unit by means of tie-rod. The knee unit has casing as a piece of crus, member for supporting femur, axle, two friction bushings one of which is auxiliary and the second one is working one. The latter has return spring and connected to control tie-rod. The axle and auxiliary bushing are fixed relative to the casing. The member for supporting femur is mounted on the axle and is engaged with its friction surfaces with the working and supporting bushings so that the working bushing is screwed on the axle thread due to return spring action under no control action being applied to come in engagement with the member for supporting femur. The member making rotation relative to the crus (flexion), friction forces lock the femur support member rotating the working bushing. The flexion motion being continued, a lever compresses the spring causing damped bending. EFFECT: provided knee joint stability with no knee weakness to take place; reliability in retaining damped knee joint bending in any angular position of leg. 2 dwg
