FIELD: construction industry; applicable in production of slaked lime. SUBSTANCE: method includes supply of initial product into reactor, its treatment with water and steam and withdrawal of finished product from reactor zone. In the course of hydration, additional airtight chamber is filled with steam for steam exchange between it and reactor. Unreacted finely dispersed particles of lime are slaked in airtight chamber. The device for lime slaking has a reactor for lime slaking with appliance for loading of initial product, appliance for water supply, appliance for withdrawal of finished product from reactor. EFFECT: higher percentage of finished product yield due to hydration of dust-like particles of unreacted lime. 3 cl, 1 dwg
