SUBSTANCE: described is steel for shell structures of atomic power plants of greater reliability, safety and longer service life. Steel comprises components, wt %: carbon, 0.12-0.20; silicon, 0.15-0.40; manganese 0.25-0.55; chromium, 2.60-3.30; nickel, 0.50-0.90; molybdenum, 0.50-0.90; vanadium 0.20-0.35; copper, 0.01-0.08; sulfur, 0.001-0.010; phosphorus, 0.001-0.010; arsenic, 0.001-0.010; antimony, 0.001-0.010; lead, 0.0003-0.010; bismuch, 0.0003-0.010; tin, 0.01-0.010; calcium, 0.005-0.03; magnesium, 0.005-0.03; nitrogen, 0.0001-0.02; aluminium, 0.005- 0.05; titanium, 0.01-0.04; oxygen, 0.001-0.005; cobalt, 0.005- 0.025; sodium, 0.002-0.01; and iron, the balance; (P+Sb+Sn)= 0.003-0.015.
