FIELD: electrical equipment of gasoline engines. SUBSTANCE: device has two electrodes with spark gap; space volume between them is (50-200) cu. mm at spark gap length of 0.8 to 2 mm. Proposed device incorporates provision for modifying electrical discharge phases of spark plug to reduce advance angle of ignition and to reduce speed of response in engine cylinders during ignition at initial stage of flame propagation. When poor-quality fuel is used, proposed device functions to instantly reduce advance angle of ignition without mechanical adjustment and to remove unburned carbon components of fuel and motor oil from electrical discharge area of spark plug.
