FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: invention is related to ignition systems of internal combustion engines with inductance or capacitance accumulation of energy and may be used in ignition systems of internal combustion engines, and also in devices, where it is required, at small dimensions and cost of installation, to obtain spark discharge with high efficiency factor and low losses at high values of current and energy. Method for reduction of energy losses in systems of internal combustion engine ignition with inductance or capacitance accumulation of energy consists in the fact that energy of ignition coil discharge is reduced right up to the value sufficient only to obtain breakdown voltage. Resistance of high voltage circuit is reduced right down to values of less than 10 Ohm. Capacitor is connected serially with high-voltage winding of ignition coil. Capacitor discharges, through low resistances of high-voltage circuit and "broken" spark gap. Capacitor discharge is the main source of energy of electric spark discharge.
EFFECT: reduction of energy losses in ignition system, improvement of ignition process, increased speed and completeness of combustion of different fuel mixes, exclusion of detonation, improvement of power and ecological parametres of internal combustion engine.
