CUTTING MACHINE WITH OFF-FACE DRIVE Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

FIELD: cutting machines applicable in mechanization of extraction of bastard coals and other minerals from thin and very thin seams. SUBSTANCE: cutting machine has base in the form of conveyer for its movement along face and includes body with disc actuating member, mechanism for machine feed and rotation of actuating member and remote drive with hauling chain connected with machine by means of surrounding and driving sprockets. Installed on machine base ends is common nonreversing drive of machine feed and rotation of actuating member. The latter is connected with machine by means of endless haulage chain with stop grips on machine body. Driving sprockets are made with built-in overrunning clutches ensuring motion of one branch through deflecting sprockets and driving sprocket transmitting rotating motion to disc of actuating member with simultaneous opposing movement of other branch of hauling chain stopped by stop grip on machine body and involving it in longitudinal movement along conveyer. EFFECT: simplified design, higher reliability, productivity and efficiency of machine application and safety in mining operations in breakage faces of thin and very thin seams. 2 dwg
