FIELD: measurement technology. SUBSTANCE: jet of liquid is discharged from nozzle mounted in base; vertical walls are mounted along longer sides of base. Length of rectangular exit section of nozzle is equal to distance between vertical walls; ratio of sides of section ranges from 0.02 to 0.04. After flooding initial section, period of self-excited oscillations of free flat jet are measured by means of photocell or video unit. Depending on magnitude of period, flow rate is determined by given dependences. EFFECT: extended range of measurements towards low flow rates. 1 dwg
