FIELD: protection of battery electrodes. SUBSTANCE: device has circular non-conducting taut strut and flexible conductor held in position by means of the latter. Taut strut has through hole accommodating flexible conductor which is open on both ends of hole. It is loosely compressed in axial direction of hole. Taut strut mounted separately from battery has space formed over hole periphery to receive flexible conductor. The latter is made in the form of two contacting plate springs passed over diameter through hole; at least one of plate springs is bent to emerge outside of taut strut in axial direction of hole. Flashlight provided with proposed safety device has cylindrical shell accommodating set of batteries arranged therein in series and front unit on one end of cylindrical shell with battery safety device installed between two batteries.
