FIELD: induction heating devices, applicable in industry at heat treatment of metal articles, blanks, parts of machines and mechanisms and in strength and durability tests. SUBSTANCE: two inductors built in the production line, with the article to be heated placed between them are connected to a voltage source for the preset time, and heating is conducted in three stages: in the first stage maximum powers Pmax are set in the circuits of the inductors until the allowable pressure differential in the article section is attained, in the second stage the power in the inductors is reduced down to 0,8Pmax until the preset temperature is attained, in the third stage the powers in the inductors are reduced down to P < 0,4Pmax.. The device for realization of the described method for induction heating has series-connected voltage source, high-frequency inverter, main inductor, additional inductor, two capacitors parallel-connected to the inductors, inverter control system that has a control unit, two master oscillators, information input device, two temperature - sensitive elements, allowable temperature differentials setup unit and an additional temperature-sensitive element, located in the middle part of the article section.
