FIELD: adjustable electric drives for miscellaneous mechanisms such as small vehicles, pump units, domestic appliances, and the like. SUBSTANCE: method involves alternate supply of voltage pulses to motor phase windings for which purpose magnetization curve Ψdet(i) is determined in advance at preset commutation angle, voltage being switched over from one phase to other depending on rotor position signal which is determined indirectly using signals of instant voltage across operating phase winding and instant current through the latter. In addition, running value of winding resistance is determined and measured current signal of motor used in calculating running value of flux as function of resistance obtained is corrected. EFFECT: improved starting stability under all conditions, enlarge speed control range, enhanced precision of determining rotor angular position. 15 cl, 4 dwg
