FIELD: food-processing industry. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has bowl, cap positioned inside bowl, sealing ring, gas supplying channel, and locking device. Bowl has captive nut for retaining sealing ring, and movable stem with cap gripping head. Bowl may be equipped with collar positioned between bowl edge and sealing ring. Locking device may be made in the form of valve mounted for engagement with movable stem. Gas supplying channel is connected to bowl through branch pipe on which sleeve is mounted for rotation around branch pipe. Apparatus provides reliable capping of large batches of vessels due to independent supplying of facilities for effecting mechanized and automatized sealing, carbonizing and capping operations.
