SURGICAL METHOD FOR TREATING EPICANTHUS Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves making horizontal incision of skin from the internal eye angle cutting the epicanthus fold. The incision is continued in medial position relative to the nasal boundary of the epicanthus fold. Two divergent skin incisions are done from the lateral end of the horizontal incision continued along edge of the upper and lower eyelid. Two adjacent skin triangles having obtuse angles are produced. The internal and external skin triangles are separated. The common medial apex of the skin flaps is matched with lateral end of the horizontal incision and fixed with single interrupted suture. The flaps are spread together with epicanthus fold. Skin excess is excised and incision edges are adapted with interrupted sutures. EFFECT: simplified operation method; improved cosmetic results. 4 dwg
