FIELD: gas treatment catalysts. SUBSTANCE: objective to be attained is raising mechanical strength and activity of catalysts, which contain 12-17 wt % vanadium compounds on alumina-based support. Pore volume of alumina varies between 0.35 and 0.65 cu.cm/g, while volume of pores with radius more than 100 nm varies between 0.05 and 0.25 cu.cm/g. Specific surface of alumina is 150-250 sq.m/g. Additionally, support contains 0.01 to 0.5 wt % sodium oxide and 0.1 to 2.0 wt % Mn, Fe, and Mo compounds. Preparation procedure includes single-step impregnation of alumina support with water-soluble vanadium compounds performed in conformity with moisture capacity and followed by partial drying in air, final drying, and heat treatment at 500- 600 C.
