FIELD: sealing engineering. SUBSTANCE: seal may be used for sealing of rotating shafts of pumps pumping over high-temperature explosion- and fire-hazardous toxic liquids. End seal of rotating shaft has a rotating sealing member secured on shaft and non-rotating sealing member positioned in body. Cooled pumped-over medium is used for cooling of end seal. Cooled medium is supplied through channels made in flange secured on seal body. Then cooled medium gets into cavity formed by flange groove and supporting ring. Cooled medium is delivered to seal cavity through by-pass channels and throttling clearance, and it is supplied to pump cavity through channels and cylindrical holes of bushing which is mounted in body for separation of pump and seal cavities. Cooled medium is supplied to pump cavity through throttling clearance formed by internal surface of bushing and external surface of shaft. Thus uniform and effective cooling of sealing members is performed, no effect is rendered on temperature conditions in sealing cavity of pumped-over high-temperature medium, stratification of antifriction rings and destruction of secondary and auxiliary seals are excluded.
