FIELD: sealing technology; designing and manufacture of pumps, compressors and turbounits. SUBSTANCE: shaft is mounted in housing at radial sealing clearance δ. Multistart helical thread provided on one generatrix surfaces forming the radial sealing clearance has additional multistart helical thread of opposite direction relative to above-mentioned helical line. At points of intersection of these threads, projections with flat faces are formed; flat faces of these projection intersect at vertices. Circular bores are provided over multistart helical threads which connect all turns of threads. Circular bores are connected with cooling liquid by means of passages. EFFECT: possibility of reduction clearance in seal at retained serviceability even in media presenting fire and explosion hazard, for example, in high-temperature gaseous oxygen. 3 cl, 4 dwg
