FIELD: communications engineering. SUBSTANCE: method is designed to add modified variable-speed coding function to vocoder in base station controller of cellular communication system. Base station controller has set of digital voice-signal indicating processors, digital call control signaling processor, selector and vocoder processor, and selector interface processor. Base station controller functions to establish communication between transceiver subsystem of base station and mobile device communication center. Each digital voice-signal indicating processor controls respective vocoder to compress voice signal. Novelty is that particular memory area is divided into code part and data part. Selector and vocoder processor loader sends request to selector interface processor for loading program to be executed and code stored in code part, processor loading program of selector interface processor enters program to be executed and code stored in code part into selector and vocoder processor, the latter starts loaded program being executed, executed program sends request to processor loading program of selector interface processor to load data stored in data part and this data is directly loaded in digital voice-signal indicating processor memory bypassing selector and vocoder processor.
