FIELD: packing arrangements. SUBSTANCE: packing member that may be spirally wound around elongated item such as cable has strip of packing material such as gel and at least one row of adhesive members placed near packing material strip and running over longitudinal edge of packing material. Adhesive members are used to ensure bonding between packing member and elongated item that it covers. Packing member may incorporate carrying strip with packing material strip and each row of adhesive members attached to it.
