METHOD OF MANUFACTURING UNBURNED BUILDING PRODUCTS Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

FIELD: building materials industry, more particularly manufacture of unburned brick and facing tile. SUBSTANCE: method comprises mixing alkali metal silicate and filler, adding water, molding the products and drying. Alkali metal silicate is liquid soda glass; filler is finely divided glass or finely divided mixture of broken glass in combination with sand and/or clay; in this case filler is mixed with liquid soda glass, and microsilicon production waste is further added to the resulting mixture, and water is then added, ratios of components being as follows, wt parts: broken glass, 10-100, sand, up to 90; clay, up to 50; sodium glass by solid residue, 2.5-10; microsilica production waste, 2-6, water, 5-10; molded products being first dried in air and then in furnace at 200- 300 C for 1 or 2 hours. During mixing operation, blue heat resistant alumocobalt pigment is further added and final products are glazed by firing them in furnace at temperatures from 600 to 700 for 5-20 minutes.
