FIELD: non-ferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: silica dust results from smelting of ferrosilicium, metallic silicon and other silicon- containing alloys. Method comprises treating silica dust in industrial high-energy activators containing milling bodies at energy intensity of 1-150 W/g for 0.1-20 min. Packed silica dust has density of 0.4-1.5 g/cubic cm, high looseness and non-caking power. EFFECT: higher process efficiency, lower power consumption and lower outlays for transportation of final product. 9 ex, 1 tbl
