METHOD OF INSTALLATION OF CEMENT BRIDGING PLUG Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

FIELD: drilling and major repair of wells of various applications usable in cases of well filled with fluid. SUBSTANCE: method includes running of hydraulic giant on pipe string into well filled with drilling mud down to lower boundary of interval of installation of cement bridging plug. All portion of grouting mortar is forced by drilling mud through hydraulic giant. Simultaneously hydraulic giant is lifted on pipe string to upper boundary of interval of installation of cement bridging plug during replacement of drilling mud with grouting mortar. Continuous stream is formed from all portion of grouting mortar in direction from axis of pipe string between external surface of hydraulic giant and well wall. Initial part of continuous stream of grouting mortar from immovable hydraulic giant is directed to side of upper boundary of interval of installation of cement bridging plug relative to pipe string at angle whose value is determined by mathematical inequality. Use is made of hydraulic giant with slotted nozzle having opening determined by mathematical inequality. Hydraulic giant is lifted on pipe string at speed determined also by mathematical inequality. Then, excessive grouting mortar is washed off and cement bridging plug is left for solidification. EFFECT: improved quality of cement bridging plug. 1 ex
