FIELD: mechanical engineering; diesel engine fuel supply systems. SUBSTANCE: proposed fuel heater has housing with fuel inlet and outlet branch pipes and electric heating element arranged in housing. Heating element is made in form of metal plate with thick-film coating. Plate is secured in lower part of housing. Coarse fuel filter is installed at opposite end of indicated plate. Lower part of housing with fitted-on plate can be made detachable. Fuel can be fed through holes uniformly spaced over circumference in lower part of housing. EFFECT: improved efficiency of fuel heater in operation, simplified design, enhanced reliability at below- zero temperatures. 3 cl, 2 dwg
