FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves examining a patient using transcutaneous ultrasonic transducer with stomach filled by some liquid. In visualizing ulcer defect, the transducer is rotated so that ultrasonic scanning plane is in perpendicular relation to the stomach wall and its long axis and passes through the ulcer defect. The thinnest area of stomach wall is to be found and its thickness is measured. The value being less than 1.6 mm, perforation and penetration threat is to be diagnosed. EFFECT: high accuracy of diagnosis.
