FIELD: working of toothed part, namely gear wheels. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of cutting teeth by means of milling cutter with single row of teeth. Milling cutter is fed at uniform rotation of blank along depth of recess to be cut. In order to enhance efficiency and accuracy of teeth cutting, milling cutter is mounted along line passing through cut-in points of its teeth into blank. Cutting teeth of milling cutter are inclined relative to axis of recess at feed-in point in rotation direction of gear wheel blank by angle equal to half of central angle formed by diametrical lines passing through feed-in and insert points. Cutting teeth are mutually spaced by circumferential stroke value equal to spacing between points of feed-in and insert. Revolution number of milling cutter is determined according to given relation and it is directly proportional to number of teeth of cut gear wheel, circumferential stroke of cutting teeth of milling cutter, revolution number of gear wheel blank and it is inversely proportional to length of circle with radius of milling cutter.
