FIELD: machine engineering, working by cutting.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of successively cutting convex and concave sides of teeth by means of cutting tool for forming involute profile of teeth at rolling blank around by tool being simultaneously fed towards blank by angle of initial rack profile of hypothetical tool rack. In order to enlarge manufacturing possibilities, teeth are cut by means of finger type milling cutter arranged normally relative to plane of machine engagement at cutting lateral surface of tooth while milling cutter performs complex motion along axis of cut wheel normally to said axis. At cutting involute portion of lateral surface, profiling point of milling cutter performs motion in plane of machine tool engagement. At cutting curvilinear portion of lateral surface arranged under involute portion, profiling point of milling cutter is to be arranged in planes parallel relative to plane of machine tool engagement. At cutting cylindrical surface of recess between teeth, milling cutter axis is arranged normally relative to said surface and profiling point is arranged on said surface.
EFFECT: enlarged manufacturing possibilities of method.
