UNIT FOR BIOCHEMICAL TREATMENT OF SEWAGE Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

Abstract RU 2169123 C1

FIELD: units for biochemical treatment of sewage characterized by abrupt fluctuations in flow rate, availability of organic contaminants or regular admission of such contaminants. SUBSTANCE: proposed unit includes tower-type aerotank with jet aeration devices located in its upper portion and aeration pipes located inside it, sewage intake chamber with aeration devices and pumps supplying sewage to aerotank, secondary settler, silt compactor, silt platforms, technological water supply and discharge pipe lines and aerobic reactor. Aerobic reactor is made in form of vertical column whose height is lesser than that of aerotank; its ;lower portion is made in form of truncated cone with lesser base at the bottom and silt pipe in lower portion of housing. Outlet branch pipe of silt is connected with supply branch pipe of intake chamber through gate. Mounted in upper portion of column are jet aeration units with aeration pipes around which packing made from inert materials is located; working liquid inlet branch pipes of aeration units are connected with cleaned water branch pipe of aerotank; discharge branch pipe of aerobic reactor is connected with inlet of secondary settler; supply branch pipes of intake chamber aeration units are connected with branch pipe discharge water-and-silt mixture from aerotank through shut-off devices; this branch pipe is fitted below inert packing layer found in upper portion of aerotank; difference in heights of columns of aerotank aerobic reactor and intake chamber are dictated by required serviceability of jet aeration units at delivery of working liquid by gravity. EFFECT: improved quality of cleaning sewage and enhanced efficiency due to additional saturation of sewage with oxygen because of different heights of units. 3 cl, 1 dwg
