FIELD: hydraulic structures; applicable in structures of pumped-storage stations and pumping plants operating under conditions of water storage. SUBSTANCE: water inlet-water outlet has water inlet-water outlet chamber, transition section and pressure culvert in which flow-guide plates in form of wing-shaped profile are made form material ensuring neutral buoyancy. Flow-guide plates are secured with help of hinges found on one edge of each plate to axles on side opposite to water inlet-water outlet chamber. Axles are located in plane coinciding with cross-section of pressure culvert and secured with their one side in wall of pressure culvert, and with their other side, in center of pressure culvert between each other. Stop plates are secured in wall of pressure culvert in points of touching of corners of nonfastened sides of flow-guide plates. Flow-guide plates are made with beveled one corner of nonfastened side forming stop rib. Stop plates may be made in form of common ring located on wall of pressure culvert. Material of flow-guide plates contains hollows that provides for its neutral buoyancy. Invention prevents separation of water flow from walls of water inlet-water outlet chamber due to provided twisting of flow that reduces energy losses of flow in this chamber and allows reduction of length of this chamber with respective decrease of material consumption and cost of chamber construction.
