FIELD: hydraulic engineering, water development works, hydroelectric pumped storage power plant. SUBSTANCE: water intake/outlet includes pressure water conduit 1, water intake chamber 2 formed by foundation slab 3, piers 4 and ceiling 5, slot 6 of fast-response gate, slot 7 of repair gate, transition section 8. Stream dividers 9 comprising two curvilinear plates attached with axial hinges 12 and 13 to middle parts of wall 4 are installed in water intake chamber 2. Hinges 12 and 13 of each plate are provided with rotary pivot 14 passing through the points placed on lateral walls 4 of water intake chamber 2 nearby plate butts. Walls 4 are curvilinear too with contour in plane similar to the plate curvature. Such design allows one to place the plates being idle so as to join the walls. Each plate is provided with a lever hinged to lifting-descending mechanism. Lifting-descending mechanism is placed in niches 18 originated in lateral walls of water intake chamber 2 and includes two water driving devices. Each device has a tank with a rig in its upper part allowing air inlet and outlet, as well as upper and lower pipes connected through flexible hoses to by-pass slide valve. Water driving rigs are placed in niches 18 and hinged from the levers. The valve is provided with spring loaded pilot by-pass slide valve spring, drain pipeline and pipeline connected to speed pipe placed in water intake chamber 2 and directed towards inlet of water intake chamber 2 (towards water reservoir). Seals are provided in niches 18 for preventing water ingress from water intake chamber 2. Filtered up water is led away to tail race through areaway.
