METHOD OF MAKING HOLES AND WORKINGS IN GEOLOGICAL STRUCTURES Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

FIELD: mining, particularly, methods of making holes and working. SUBSTANCE: method includes location of self-contained unit at point of hole making. Unit is used for rock breaking beginning from hole mouth with hole bottom disintegration by jets of working agent flowing from working member of drilling unit under pressure and carrying of broken rock parts out of hollow of formed hole by ascending flow at velocity exceeding velocity of free fall of rock particles. Upon completion of process, hole hollow is freed form drilling unit. In case of instantaneous collapse of hole wall and its fall into hole hollow, further cutting of bottom is discontinued, and excessive pressure is built up in hole hollow owing to supply into hollow of excessive working agent. EFFECT: higher efficiency and productivity in making holes and workings. 9 dwg
